HOLY WEEK AND THE TRIDUUM

church2

The forty days and forty nights of Lent are preparing us for this moment, especially the three days that we call Triduum (Holy Thursday Evening, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday). It is in these three days that we enter into liturgies that are only done once a year.  It’s in these once a year liturgies that experience the whole of our Catholic  faith professed.  It is in these days that we don’t enter into history, but we enter into the mystery of Christ’s life, death and resurrection transforming our own dialing living, our own daily dying, our daily rising in these our present times.  All of this helps the celebration to overflow into fifty days of an Easter Season.
