HOLY WEEK IS APPROACHING

Holy Week is fast approaching. This is the time to make the week different and
holy. Here is the schedule of events. Please make room for this, the heart of the
Church Year.
PALM OR PASSION SUNDAY, APRIL 13
5:00 P.M. (Vigil Mass) 8:00 A.M., 10:00 A.M., Noon – Palms will be blessed and
distributed at all the Masses, the Passion will be proclaimed from Matthew’s
Gospel…Holy Week begins.
MONDAY, APRIL 14
• Mass at 7:15 A.M. and 8:30 A.M.
• Confessions from Noon through 1:00 P.M.
TUESDAY, APRIL 15
• Mass at 8:30 A.M.
• Chrism Mass at 7:00 P.M. at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral, downtown.
The Bishop will bless the Sacred Oils used for anointing the sick, Baptism,
Confirmation, Holy Orders, catechumens, and dedication of a church. The
Sacred Oils are then distributed to each parish throughout the Diocese.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16
• Mass at 7:15 A.M. and 8:30 A.M.
• Confessions from 7:00 P.M. through 8:00 P.M.
HOLY THURSDAY, APRIL 17
• Only one Mass is celebrated on this day…there will be no morning Mass.
• The Sacred Paschal Triduum: Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:00 P.M.
• Adoration will be in the Chapel after Mass till Midnight.
• Liturgy of the Hours: Night Prayer will be prayed at Midnight.
GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 18
• Liturgy of the Hours: Morning Prayer will be prayed at 8:30 A.M.
• Stations of the Cross in Church at 3:00 P.M.
• Stations of the Cross procession through neighborhood at 3:00 P.M., meet in
the Fr. Kenny Center
• The Sacred Paschal Triduum: Celebration of the Lord’s Passion at
7:00 P.M.
HOLY SATURDAY, APRIL 19
• Liturgy of the Hours: Morning Prayer will be prayed at 8:30 A.M.
• Blessing of Food at 3:00 P.M.
• The Sacred Paschal Triduum: The Easter Vigil in the Holy Night at
9:00 P.M.
EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 20
• 8:00 A.M., 10:00 A.M., Noon Mass
